Maui, Hawaii Trip - Day 5

So, earlier in the morning I was looking at this kayaking trip on the internet that takes you to a place that people call "the blowhole." Anyways, I didn't know of where it was so I decided to just do something else. Along my drive I saw this parking area where people were getting out and taking pics. I decided to see the view and snap some shots and right as I passed the first ridge low and behold, there it was. I managed to just stumble across this magical place known as "the blowhole". Now I know what those of you who know me are thinking. "You would" hehe.

Maui, Hawaii Trip - Day 5

I passed this little village with a sign that had a little stand that said they sold the "World's Best Banana Bread". I bought some to send to home. The samples they had were definitely worthy. The verdict is out.

Maui, Hawaii Trip - Day 5

So, after the beach got cloudy I decided to take a drive around the small mountain on Maui's West side. There were these tiny winding roads all along the roads past wailuku that were only big enough for one car. There were many times that I though I was going to slide off the side and careen into the valley below. Luckily, I did not. The drive was severely worth it. Check out these pics I took all along the coast.

Maui, Hawaii Trip - Day 5

On our way back down from the crater. There are these little stands all over Hawaii. Some have flowers. Some have food.

So there's this organic food store here named Mana Foods that I've been going to daily for lunch because it's sooooo awesome. They have pre-made food as well as groceries. Today's fare was a veggie calzone thing. What's crazy is that I hate artichokes and I hate olives, but I loved this, which was filled with both.

More Maui hippies.

Maui, Hawaii Trip - Day 5

The observatory at the top of the crater. What I wouldn't give to get all up in that, but the gubment wont let me.

Heres the closest crater. It's a little covered in clouds but you get the gist.

The colors in the sediment were reallly beautiful.

Maui, Hawaii Trip - Day 5

Haleakala Silversword (Argyroxiphium sandwicense macrocephalum)

My bro told me to wear his hat since it says "Hawaii" on it. I did, but it made me retarded.

10 g's big ballin'

Went up to the Haleakala (Hall - eh - ah - ka- la) Crater which is at the top of the larger of the two mountains on Maui. There is a plant called the Haleakala Silversword. This is the only place in the world in which it grows. It also only blooms once in its lifetime which can last around 50 years. We didnt see a bloomed one where we were, but it was still pretty cool to learn about either way.

Maui, Hawaii Trip - day 4

There were these cool rock stacks the hippies left on the hike past the beach.

Maui, Hawaii Trip - day 4

Anyone for some nekkid frisbee?

Trek to nude beach

Hike the hike past the nude beach.

So prior to finding this beach I knew what I was about to encounter. My bro had told me to go right and just find the cliff wall, go up it, and on the other side is the nude beach where all the hippies go and have nightly drum circles and smoke pot and hippie it up. On my way there there was this rastafarian looking guy who saw this other hippie dude and they gave eachother this arm bump/handshake thing. They wreaked of patchouli and dreadlock wax. This told me all I needed to know. I thought to myself "just follow the scent of hippie and you'll find the nude beach." I was correct in my assumption.
